The Wrangell Experience!

One of the most difficult things about being a fishing guide in Wrangell, Alaska is conveying to folks what is so special about this place. Yes, there are hundreds of places to fish in Alaska and each one has its own appeal and enticement. So, why would you choose Wrangell over another tempting fishing spot? Without sounding too much like a used car salesman, not that there is anything wrong with that, I will give you some reasons that might convince you to give us a try.

1. Easy to get here… Alaska Airlines lands in Wrangell twice a day. Once you are here, you’re here! No extra flights or boat rides needed.
2. Calm protected waters… We are 80 miles from the open ocean and never fish that far from Wrangell. We don’t get ocean swells or big waves that tend to lead to seasickness. This is especially appealing to families with children that want to enjoy a family fishing experience, but not subject their children to getting sick.
3. Custom boat… The “Timber Wolf” is a custom built 35 foot aluminum cruiser built for saltwater fishing. It has a spacious heated cabin with a full galley, seating for 6 and full size marine restroom on board. The large back deck makes for the perfect platform for fighting and landing your trophies! With a cruising speed of 30 knots, there is less time running to the fishing grounds and more time fishing.
4. Build your trip… You can design your fishing trip to suit your needs and timing. Add a sight seeing excursion to your fishing trip and take in some of Alaska’s pristine wilderness. You can also choose from one of our “all inclusive” packages that includes your fishing, lodging and meals for that one stop shop!
5. The experience… Lastly, don’t forget to take in the experience of being in Alaska. Sure, catching fish is fun and certainly one reason to come to Wrangell, but don’t let that be the driving force in your trip. I encourage people to just take what they will eat and fill the rest of your fish box with the incredible memories and experiences that only Alaska can provide.

So, if you want to give Wrangell a try, just give me a call. I don’t think you’ll be sorry.
